5 Tips to Improve Your Indoor Cycling
We all agree on the fact that Indoor cycling is the way to go when it comes to keeping the momentum during the cold season and saving your body from turning into a couch potato.
There are so many ways to make the indoor cycling experience more enjoyable and improve it.
Here are some tips on how to do that:
1.Have a plan and analyze your data
This makes sense right? Set your goals and check the data to see how you are doing. This will give you the motivation you need to keep going. Fitness improvements come about by progressive overload, not by random interval sessions and mega long rides. Put the work, consistency is key!
2.Attire
Wearing the right apparel will help you get the most out of your session. You need something efficient to absorb the sweat. Keep in mind that most seats are not padded. Added to that you are not shifting around on the saddle in the same way you would when on the road. The best way to go is a sleeveless jersey combined with some biking shorts, those tend to use a dense pad. Check out our shorts and our new collection of sleeveless jerseys.
3.Hydration
Now that you have your cycling clothing set and ready. Let’s dive into more details. One of the most important things to keep in mind is to stay hydrated. This applies also to when you are cycling outside but here even more, given that the training sessions tend to be more intense meaning more sweat. Make sure you show up to your workout well-hydrated and you stay that way throughout.
One tip, keep a fan near to help with the sweat and get yourself a water bottle. Remember every mild dehydration can lead to loss of performance.
Stay hydrated!
4. Your training space
This is an important one. Make sure you have a clean distraction-free space with good air circulation and temperature systems. Ideally, the room should have a window that could be open while training but a powerful fan should also do the job.
5.Have fun
Indoor cycling does have to be isolating and boring, in fact, it is the complete opposite of that. With the numbers of apps out there you get to do a lot: you can work out with your friends, plan races, join existing ones, set the background to the black forest from the comfort of your home.
You can also blast your favorite tunes, it’ll help you stay motivated.
Indoor cycling can be intense, make sure to listen to your body and stretch more. Keep that momentum going and you will be reaching your goals!
